Global Shipping Summit Charts New Course Toward Green and Smart Development

After four years of development, the World Shipping Conference has become a benchmark platform for global shipping industry exchanges. This year's conference focused on core industry concerns, placing “sustainable development” at the center of discussions. Facing profound transformations driven by geopolitics, technological innovation, and climate change, the global shipping community reached a consensus: green transformation and smart upgrading are the only paths to high-quality industry development.

At the main forum, Miu Kin-man, Chairman of China Merchants Group, delivered a keynote speech titled “Breaking Barriers, Embracing Change, and Charting a New Course for High-Quality Sustainable Development.” He proposed three initiatives: establishing a fair and equitable global shipping governance system, formulating scientific carbon reduction rules, and building a diversified shipping ecosystem.
